What Putting Out An Explosive Oil Fire With Water Looks Like In Super Slow-Motion

In their latest video shot at 2500 fps, the Slow Mo Guys are showing us exactly what not to do should you ever catch yourself trying to put out an oil fire. What happens when you attempt to extinguish an oil fire with water is that the water sinks through the oil and quickly evaporates and the oil shoots upwards leaving you with one explosive hot mess. Gavin and Dan capture this phenomena using a $150,000 high speed camera allowing you to see the explosion in great detail.

Pretty cool huh?! If you liked that video…. here’s one that’s just as awesome! Drop us a comment below and make sure to give this a share on Facebook before you go.
