The da Vinci Surgical System is used to stitch a grape back together in this video.
The same technology that can be used to suture a tiny grape is designed to help perform delicate, minimally invasive surgery.
The robot is controlled by a surgeon from a console and is commonly used for prostatectomies, gynelogical work, along with cardiac valve repair.
The manufacturers named it the “da Vinci” based on Leonardo da Vinci’s “study of human anatomy” which led to the design of the first ever robot in history.
You can find these robots in hospitals worldwide and in 2012 approximately 200,000 surgeries took place using this incredible medical tool.
