Two Friends Turned Their Van Into A Mobile Laundromat For The Homeless

Often times the needs of the homeless go un-noticed. However, Lucas Patchett (20) and Nicholas Marchesi (20) say NOT TODAY. The homeless are often denied the proper hygiene rituals due to the circumstances they face every day on the streets or in shelters. However, due to good Samaritans like Nicholas and Lucas, the homeless have one less worry on their minds: clean clothes.

Nicholas and Lucas equipped their van to become a mobile Laundromat to give the homeless the ability to wash their clothes safely. Orange Sky Laundry Project is the name of the project, which the two created in July in Brisbane. It all began with an old van generator along with the help of donations. This allowed for two washing machines and driers that are able to clean about 44 pounds an hour. The guys operate the mobile cleaning machine 5 days a week and hope the good will can spread throughout Australia. Major kudos to these guys!
