This Guy Walked 1,000 Miles Across China. By The End, He’s Barely Recognizable

Back in 2007, the adventurous writer and traveler by the name of Christoph Rehage decided to walk on foot from Beijing to Germany.  Throughout his year long journey, Rehage’s face had radically changed from the first day he had set out.

What’s even better is that Rehage documented the entire change in a series of selfies. He walked a whopping 2,796 miles in which, Rahage says, “All of the distance from Beijing to Ürümqi was completed solely on foot, straight good old walking. There are instances where you can see me in the video sitting on a plane or riding a boat, but those are during breaks I had to take from walking, either to sort out bureaucracy issues or to take care of some personal things.”

“After one year of mountains and blazing hot deserts, I realized I had grown a mighty long beard. But I was missing something,” Rehage wrote. Check out the video below. Is it surprising?
