For the past 10 years, American artist Ra Paulette has been doing something quite incredible…carving sandstone in a cave, alone with only his dog for company.
Using only simple tools, such as a wheelbarrow, shovel and carving utensils, Paulette has carved some the most intricate and beautiful designs you’ll ever see.
I still can’t get over the fact that he’s been doing this for 10 YEARS! The entire point of doing this, according to Paulette, was to ‘create an environment that would inspire spiritual renewal and personal well being’.
If you’re looking to visit this place it’s located in New Mexico where there was also a documentary done on artist Ra Paulette, of which was actually nominated for an Oscar.
You can check out the trailer for the Cave Digger at the end of this article.
He only used simple tools such as a wheelbarrow, shovel and carving utensils
The amount of detail is stunning
Each cavern has different designs and textures
He used a ladder for those hard to reach places
If you thought that was cool, check out the guy who recreated a Van Gogh painting using only plants.
