What if I told you that these quilts you’re about to see below are actually made out of wood? Probably wouldn’t believe me huh? Well, master woodcarver Fraser Smith, quilts are all actually made out of wood…. along various other wood carvings like clothing, jackets and even hats. All pieces are stained, using either watercolors or oil-based pigments.

In an interview with Country & Town House, Smith said, “for the quilts, I use basswood, which is similar to what they call Linden in Europe. For the leather jackets I use mahogany. A large quilt can take six to eight months. A jacket might take two to three months.” Crazy amount of dedication I know…. Check out his work below:
