College student Michinobu Uda created the unusual sci-fi sounding instrument you see here. Uda wanted to create something that sounded unique and he achieved just that. The UDAR works by using both hands to press parts of the spiral cords that wrap around both sides of the device.
With each turn of the cord, the UDAR jumps one octave while movement from the center of the UDAR outwards increases its pitch. It has various sounds including pianos, guitars and many others.
I’m pretty sure I could listen to this type of sound all day! Let us know what you think in the comment section below, and don’t forget to give this a share on Facebook before you go! (h/t Alltop)
