Ashik Gavai was having terrible pains coming from the right side of his lower jaw. After local doctors in India could not determine the problem, Gavai and his parents traveled to Mumbai’s JJ Hospital to meet with Dr. Sunanda Dhiware.
According to BBC, Dr. Dhiware, said “Ashik’s malaise was diagnosed as a complex composite odontoma where a single gum forms lots of teeth. It’s similar to a benign tumor.”
Doctors used a chisel and a hammer to remove all 232 teeth. The doctors also said that the condition is extremely rare and they believe this is a world record.
