Reminiscent of Van Gogh’s famous Starry Night masterpiece, Daan Roosegaarde, a Dutch artist and designer, has created a stunning and pioneering glowing bike path that is illuminated at night by glowing pebbles and LEDs lights.
The swirling, gleaming patterns on the path’s surface helps bicyclists stay on track when they take a quiet nights ride. The kilometer-long bike path with glow-in-the-dark technology and solar-powered LEDs, is to be found in Brabant, the Dutch county where Van Gogh was born and raised.
Glow paths already exist in the U.K. but none quite to the likes of this path. Cheerio!

“I wanted to create a place that people will experience in a special way, the technical combined with experience, that’s what techno-poetry means to me,” said Roosegaarde.

The project was awarded Best Future Concept, Dutch Design Award, NL. Accenture Innovation Award, NL. and INDEX Award, DM. Don’t forget to give this a share on Facebook before you go!
