I’m sure you’re aware of the ALS ice bucket challenge, if you’ve been on Facebook for even just a few seconds you have probably seen a video of it. There is one video that you probably haven’t seen, and instead of ice water Muhammad Qureshi uses liquid nitrogen…. yeah, the stuff that ranges from -346°F and -320.44°F. So, as you can imagine, it’s extremely cold. Way Way colder than ice water.
It’s extremely dangerous, but thanks to the Leidenfrost effect the body can withstand it for a brief moment. I linked Wikipedia in case you want to learn more about the Leidenfrost effect. You have probably seen the Leidenfrost effect before and never knew it. All it takes is a really hot pan and a drop of water…. you get the idea. (okay science class over)
