New York-based artist Dave Pollot marries old paintings with pop culture parodies in this hilariously clever series.
“Art these days — and I will be careful with my words — I think it’s become a little too serious. So I think it’s kind of nice to sometimes take a step back and just laugh at art,” says Pollot.
The greatest challenge for Pollot is figuring out where to insert some of these pop culture characters and making them blend so it seems like they actually belong.
Original works are available through Dave’s website and prints are available through Etsy. To keep up to date with his latest projects check him out on Instagram.
