In case you were looking for the perfect marriage between art and avocado, look no further.
Twenty-six-year-old award-winning Italian artist Daniele Barresi, who now lives in Sydney, creates spectacular hand carved works of art that transform fruit and vegetables into something worth marveling at.
He’s a two-time world champion of fruit and vegetable carving and translates his passion for his craft the moment he gets his hands on food. Surprisingly, the avocado below only took Barresi less than one hour to complete.
“When I touch my knife, my mind gives up to the heart and transmits directly to the hands, giving different forms to the decorations,” he writes. “It’s like magic.”
Each incision is careful and intricate yielding fanciful pieces of soap carvings, melon carvings, and the like.
