This Adorable ‘Sea Sheep’ Eats So Much Algae It Can Photosynthesize

This is probably the cutest sea creature you will ever see. Costasiella kuroshimae (also referred to as “leaf sheep” and “Shaun the sheep”) lurks deep beneath the ocean near Japan, Indonesia, and the Phillippines.

The tiny sea creature possesses the cutest features with neat-looking phosphorescent leaf-like parts sheepish eyes and a flat face.

It’s nearly an inch in length and the little critter grazes over green algae and uses chloroplasts from the food to create energy which allows the leaf sheep to sustain itself for several months.
