Italian born artist Daniela Forti creates magnificent glasswork out of everyday household items to achieve stunningly surreal pieces that resemble jellyfish.
The translucent pieces feature glass fused together to form unusual shapes Forti calls Meduse, jellyfish in Italian.
To achieve this, she uses a technique that involves melting solid glass until they meld and weave together like so.
To achieve the defining ‘tentacles,’ Forti allows gravity to do the work which creates a beautiful, drape effect.
If you’re ever in Tuscany, Forti’s work is on permanent display at the Palazzo Tucci Hotel in Lucca.
You can see more of amazing glass works over on her website.
