Beautiful Abandoned Fishing Village In China Slowly Reclaimed By Nature

An abandoned fishing village in China has reclaimed its roots thanks to a lack of human activity in the area.

The once-bustling town near the Yangtze River off the eastern coast of China is now lush with greenery native to the land. Long vines and shrub reclaimed the old village’s stone-buildings and nostalgic brick paths, creating a fairytale-like settlement utterly devoid of humans.

Before nature reclaimed the town, Houtouwan was a thriving settlement that met the needs of a fishing community. It also belonged to Shengsi Islands, some 394 islands in the Zhoushan Archipelago.
