One clever illustrator repackaged famous 1980s and 2000s heartbreak songs into Stephen King-inspired book covers.
Butcher Billy, “a self-described pop culture butcher,” put a science fiction spin on popular classics like Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive,” Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance,” and Belinda Carlisle’s “Heaven Is a Place on Earth.”
On his website he describes his work by taking “what is considered pop culture from a variety of sources – music, comics, movies, games etc. – and mashes them all together to come up with something that draws on nostalgia, while, at the same time, provides the audience with a fresh take on a familiar scene.”
