This terrifying video was put together by AAA, and shows exactly why teens, or anyone for that matter should NEVER use a phone and drive. Even taking your eyes off the road for a split second can be absolutely disastrous, and what’s even more shocking is how long some of the teenagers in this video look down at their phones.
AAA says they were able to examine nearly 2,000 videos of teenagers driving, with footage provided to them by Lytx, a global leader in video-based driver safety technology using in-vehicle event recorders.
According to the study done by AAA, “teens have the highest crash rate of any group in the United States. About 963,000 drivers age 16-19 were involved in police-reported crashes in 2013, which is the most recent year of available data. These crashes resulted in 383,000 injuries and 2,865 deaths.”
This infographic below is quite eye opening
What’s sad is that this can easily be prevented…. just put down the phone, or at least pull over on the side of the road. Let us know what you think, and don’t forget to share this video and information with someone on Facebook. (h/t Sploid)
