Prepare to have your fond memories of childhood cartoons ruined – sort of.
Digital concept artist Dan LuVisi based in Los Angeles has created a gallery of dark and twisted spin offs of our favorite childhood cartoons.
LuVisi has cleverly titled his series, “Popped Culture” in which he showcases characters like Homer Simpson in evil and hellish lights.
He shared on his blog how the inspiration for the series came about: “I was inspired by my childhood nostalgia, growing up on Disney and Nickelodeon cartoons,” said LuVisi. “But what my intentions were to do, was combine that love with the dark underbelly of Hollywood and how it corrupts some of its many actors and actresses.”
The transformed images have become such a hit that LuVisi, along with his pal Alex Konstad, are printing a book of the images titled, “Popped Culture.” Each of the photos are paired with a backstory along with movie references that you can check out on LuVisi’s website.
