Who needs a five-star hotel when you can sleep beneath 5 million stars at this hotel.
The northern lights are clearly visible from the comfort of your bed when you stay at the 5 Million Star Hotel located in Reykjavik’s Icelandic forest.
Each room is equipped with your very own igloo bubble where you can fall asleep gazing at the aurora borealis. The dreamy hotel was founded in November 2015 by Robert Robertsson with the goal of fulfilling his childhood dream: to sleep beneath the polar lights.
Each igloo is named after a different woman in the family and is available in transparent igloo-shaped bubbles and transparent spherical bubbles. They come equipped with necessities you’d typically find in any hotel room like a double bed, nightstands, a space heater, and a lamp.
Each of the bubbles is inflated and run on a noiseless ventilation system
An air blower keeps your bubble warm throughout the winter
Each bubble fits two adults and some accommodate families as well
A one night’s stay at the starry hotel will run you $295/night
Maximize your chances of catching the northern lights by booking a night between September and March
The hotel is nestled away on private farmland and the location is only disclosed to those who make reservations
