In his series titled, It’s Hardly Noticeable, talented photographer John William Keedy is taking us deep into the depths of anxiety through photography. He sheds light into the dark corners of “abnormal behaviors” through intriguing images that offer insight into the lives of those who suffer from mental illnesses.
The project stems from his own struggles with anxiety which span over nine years. With every image, you get a glimpse into the complex issues people face each day as they cope with their disorders. Another theme throughout the images is what we, as a society, define as “normal.”
The entire idea of normalcy is questioned throughout the series. He asks, “Is it possible for a society to have a commonly held idea of what is normal, when few individuals in that society actually meet the criteria for normalcy?”
Extremely thought provoking… You can check out more of Keedy’s work here! Be sure to give this a share with you friends on Facebook before you go.
