With summer coming to a close, that doesn’t mean the party has to stop.
Send that last summer party off with a bang, and make this amazing, yet simple watermelon jello shot recipe that you and your guests will be talking about days later.
Jello shots are not hard to make, most people just use tiny plastic cups, but how bout we spice it up and use an entire watermelon. Sound great? Lets do it!
Watermelon Jello Shot
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 2 cups vodka
- 2 (3 oz) packs of Jello powder (any color…. use pink or red if you want a watermelon color)
- 2 (1 3/4 teaspoons) of gelatin
- 1 medium sized watermelon
- 2 cups of boiling water
Slice the watermelon in half, lengthwise
Scoop out the insides of the watermelon while getting as close to the rind as possible
Place any excess watermelon into a bowl and save for a healthy snack
Get two bowls and pour one packet of Jello powder and one packet of unflavored gelatin into one bowl. Then repeat for the second bowl
Pour one cup of boiling water into each of the bowls and stir
Pour one cup of Vodka into the mix (one cup for each bowl)
Place each watermelon half somewhere safe so you don’t spill the mix when pouring it in
Once you let it chill overnight, it should look like this
Slice the watermelon into wedges or however you would like
When finished, they should look like this
