It’s pretty sad when any animal becomes extinct. The Thylacine, or more commonly known as the Tasmanian Tiger, was thought to have met this fate in the 20th century. These were actually once the largest predators in Australia some 3,500 years ago, and was the largest known carnivorous marsupial of modern times Luckily before the Tasmanian Tiger became extinct, people were able to capture the beautiful animal on video and share it with us today.
Incredibly they survived into the 1930’s on the island of Tasmania. The last known male was believed to be shot by Wilf Batty, a farmer from Mawbanna…. sadly. Don’t forget to share this with your friends on Facebook.
