Dude Builds A Life-Size Halo 5 Light Rifle And It Looks Ridiculously Awesome

This incredible replica of a Light Rifle from Halo 5 was built by talented prop maker David, and featured on his website Naughty Zoot Design. Oh yeah, and this bad boy isn’t your average replica, it’s made from welded cold-rolled 14 gauge steel… weighing in at about 28 pounds. According to David, “one of the project goals for this piece was to make it feel like the real thing in your hands.”

The entire body is hand-finished steel, which produces an effect known as anisotropic reflection

Now here’s the really cool part…. The entire reactor core is made from a cold cathode lighting encased in clear epoxy, and two different kinds of glass fragments. David also applied a cold-bluing solution to the steel parts to not only protect it, but to enhance the metallic glint. The Light Rifle also has a 5000mAh battery that powers cathode tube, and that can last up to two hours.

It’s 40″ long and it weighs 28 pounds

Build time was around 500 hours

The scope is made from two layers of textured glass

The trigger is also fully functional

The entire build costed roughly $2,500

What’s even better is that David wants to sell this, and is currently looking for buyers. You can get in contact with him here if you’re interested. You can also check out the rest of his website for even more builds. Let us know what you think and don’t forget to give this a share on Facebook before you go.
