Do you ever feel so bored you could just die? Maybe while your listening to a boring lecture you don’t even care about. Or, you are just sitting at home completely bored; and you think to yourself “Ugh I’m so bored I might just die of boredom”.
While it seems highly unlikely you could literally die of boredom. Yes! Boredom can actually kill you.
Scientists have proven that boredom is linked to early deaths due to things such as heart attacks and strokes. Like tobacco, boredom won’t kill you right away. Boredom is potentially as dangerous as stress.
When your bored your mind searches for something to do. This is not always good though. Boredom is not always the direct cause of death. But, all because you got bored you might get the bright idea to go gambling, get drunk, crash your car, and boom just like that your dead.
So think, because your math teacher is giving you the most boring lecture in the world you got a bad idea, and ended up dead.
Now, I don’t think you could legally convict your math teacher of involuntary man- slaughter so I would not recommend it. I suppose you could if you so wished, but boredom was the real culprit.
Boredom could also cause psychotic disorders. Just like you can go crazy from being isolated for so long. Even though that seems highly unlikely studies show that is actually possibly. You could go insane from boredom!
Boredom is the silent, but deadly killer. The saying “I’m so bored I might die of boredom” is commonly said as a joke among people these days, but there is actually some truth behind it. So remember that the next time your bored, you could literally just die.
