11 Insanely Creative Sand Sculptures You’ll Have A Hard Time Believing Are Real

People have been building shapes in the sand for centuries, just take a look at the pyramids. When we typically see sand designs now, it’s at the beach. The basic shape being the sand castle, made famous by small children.

However, what we typically don’t see are incredible works of art, made entirely from sand. It’s almost mind boggling to see some of these creations. The detail and precision that goes into creating something like the pictures below is quite amazing.

WESTON-SUPER-MARE, ENGLAND - MARCH 26: Detail of a sand sculpture of Batman and The Incredible Hulk is seen as pieces are prepared as part of this year’s Hollywood themed annual Weston-super-Mare Sand Sculpture festival on March 26, 2013 in Weston-Super-Mare, England. Due to open on Good Friday, currently twenty award winning sand sculptors from across the globe are working to create sand sculptures including Harry Potter, Marilyn Monroe and characters from the Star Wars films as part of the town's very own movie themed festival on the beach.
